A single American company, the Burdick was founded in 1913 in Milton, a city that not only had a central line of rail, but also with employees dedicated work ethic and quality oriented. It was the perfect climate for entrepreneurs F. A. Anderson and F.F. Would create the Burdick Burdick CABINET COMPANY.

The company began with sales of devices introduced in the bath 20, the first infrared lamp for medical use and changed its name to Burdick Corporation, leading with their desire for growth and diversification in product areas outside the field of therapeutic bath.

In the 30s, Burdick began exploring the field of electrocardiography but was in the late forties that all the company's resources were directed to research, development and subsequent production of products for ECG.

During the 60 years, more devices have been developed diagnostic systems for patient monitoring, defibrillators, cardiac emergency equipment, monitors, surgical systems, cardiac stress test and ambulatory monitors. To reach a growing customer base, the Burdick has developed an extensive network DISTRIBUTORS to bring a product line of ECG for physicians and hospitals.

In 1983, Burdick was acquired by Kone Instruments, and also during this time, ELITE, first analyzer of an ECG channel was introduced to the market, which is designed to help physicians in the interpretation of ECG, and was followed shortly by a system more advanced computer that could also store, transmit and receive data. It was then that the test for interpretive analysis of the exercise was added to the product line.

In 1987, management repurchased the company and began an aggressive expansion in the hospital market. In 1988, the company was acquired by Siemens and its name was changed expertly Siemens Burdick.

In 1993 the company became Burdick, Inc, which launched an aggressive technology program, which included enhancements and additions to the existing line of products as well as acquisition of DMI, Inc.desenvolvedor and distributor of Holter and Tamarac Corp.. a company of spirometry. Four years later, in August 1997, the company was acquired by Spacelabs Medical.

Today, as a subsidiary of Cardiac Science, the Burdick provides systems and tools for integrated cardiology.
